- Needless to explain that Nepal is in the throes of fundamental changes brought about
by the collapse of the old regime and is beginning to build a new and vibrant democracy.
The small size of the country betrays the enormity of the problems confronting its
unity, survival and progress. However, its future is closely interlinked with humanity
at large especially with its neighbors. As the aspirations of billions of people
are rising in Asia, the world is getting increasingly complex in terms of human security,
resource distribution, environmental protection and social welfare. Interspersed
with these issues, there will be equally intricate problems arising from fundamental
human rights, freedom, and democratic way of self-determination and governance. Like
the big countries grappling with these situations, small countries like Nepal face
greater challenges and difficulties in coping with complex situations stemming from
all-pervasive globalization. The center aims at generating awareness of the new realities
and helping find simple, sound and serious solutions to new and emerging problems.
- The institution will organize conferences and talk programs, issue publish position
papers, periodicals, newsletters and press releases to inform the people and generate
public awareness on issues and matters of public importance and concern.
- Inspired by a vision of helping Nepal in its new road to democracy and development
and a new Nepal contributing to regional and global peace and security, a group of
Nepalese living in the US has initiated the idea of this important institution, the
NACSS. Realizing, however, the importance and enormity of the task, they have made
a move to take this mission and message to a larger audience and seek goodwill and
cooperation from those who are aware of this need and willing to join this collective
endeavor. The only condition incumbent on membership is to remain non-partisan, non-sectarian
and non-biased. The center would like to promote free, objective and independent
voice and that would act as the guiding principle for membership expansion.
- The Center will be structure and organized as per its Charter with its setup comprising
of members of the Central Council, designated Directors of the Board of Directors
(BOD) and a group of dedicated Advisors in the Board of Advisors (BOA). Benefactors,
Scholars, Interns and strong support from its friends will keep the center working
